Geologic Mapping Projects
Geologic Mapping of Mount St. Helens Project
-- Wolfe and Hoblitt
-- The intent of this project is to produce the first detailed (1:24,000-scale),
published geologic map of Mount St. Helens.
Geologic Mapping in Southern Washington Cascades Project
-- Banks, Swanson, Ashley, and Moore
-- The primary goal of these interlinked studies is better understanding of the Cascades arc --
how it formed, when and where it was
folded, faulted, intruded, and mineralized, and how it relates to active volcanism and
seismicity in southwestern Washington.
Provisional Geologic Map of Augustine Volcano, Alaska
-- Waitt and Begét, 1996, USGS Open-File Report 96-516
-- From aerial photographs flows in August 1990, the U.S. Geological Survey's National Mapping Division at

which a new geologic map is plotted.
