Installation and use of the code Conflow Conflow is an interactive, visually-oriented computer program that calculates thermodynamic and transport properties of melts and melt-gas mixtures, and calculates flow properties of magma and gas as a function of depth in eruptive conduits. The program runs on Windows-based PCs running Windows 95 or later. This ftp site (http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov/Projects/Mastin/Publications/OFR00-209/conflow.htm), contains the program in a self-extracting zip file named conflowzip.exe, and a 59-page pdf file documenting the model. To use the model, do the following: 1) Copy the file conflowzip.exe to the hard drive of your Windows-based PC. 2) On your hard drive, double-click on the conflowzip.exe icon. The file will unzip to about a dozen files that will be placed in a new subfolder entitled "Conflow". 3) Go into the folder "Conflow" and double-click on the icon "setup.exe". This will install the program on your computer. 4) To start the program, go to the Start button, then to Programs. You will see Conflow in the program list.
