CASCADES VOLCANO OBSERVATORY WEEKLY UPDATE
Friday, October 1, 2010 11:28 AM PDT (Friday, October 1, 2010 18:28 UTC)
CASCADE RANGE VOLCANOES
Activity Update: All volcanoes in the Cascade Range are at normal levels of background seismicity. These include Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams in Washington State; Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, Three Sisters, Newberry Volcano, and Crater Lake, in Oregon; and Medicine Lake volcano, Mount Shasta, and Lassen Peak in northern California.
Recent Observations: No significant changes in activity occurred during the past week. Field work this week included: Deformation monitoring site repair and maintenance at Crater Lake, Yellowstone, and Mount Hood; on-going work at the Spirit Lake outlet tunnel, geologic mapping and aerial survey at Mount St. Helens; on-going work at the Marmot site.
