Driving Directions
  • From Interstate 5 -- take Exit 21 (Woodland Exit)
  • Head east on Highway 503, approximately 23 miles to junction Highway 503 (which turns right) and Lewis River Road (straight).
  • Park where appropriate.

Mount St. Helens Climbing Permits

Permits are required year-round to climb above the 4,800 feet elevation on Mount St. Helens.

All climbers are required to sign in before and after their climb at the Climber's Register located outside of Jack's Restaurant and Store. Jack's Restaurant and Store is located on State Route 503, 23 miles east of Woodland, Washington (I-5 Exit 21) and 5 miles west of Cougar.
